I graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in December 2008 with a Master of Science in Counseling. I became a National Certified Counselor (NCC# 247220) in 2016 and obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor (LCPC #180.011277) license in Illinois in 2017.
With over 14 years of experience, I empower clients to embrace their worth and utilize their strengths, values, talents, and interests to overcome barriers to happiness. I have extensive experience supporting individuals diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, PTSD, and ADHD to improve their well-being. My professional counseling experience spans various settings (residential, outpatient, in-home, foster care programs, prisons, rehabilitation, telehealth) and includes individual, group, family, and multi-family therapy. I work with children, adolescents, and adults on mental illness, addictions, trauma, phase-of-life challenges, and relationship stress, as well as issues such as emotional regulation, anger management, interpersonal skills, stress management, executive functioning, decision-making, and parenting skills.
I am dedicated to collaborating with clients to develop effective treatment plans and implement the best counseling interventions. I cultivate an open, safe, and confidential environment where clients can share freely. My approach is tailored to individual needs, drawing from evidence-based techniques such as Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Activation Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology. To maximize progress, I often incorporate homework assignments to encourage skill practice.
