Amanda Shugart, LCSW

Amanda Shugart, LCSW, is a compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides evidence-based therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, life transitions, and relationship and family concerns. She believes therapy begins with feeling genuinely heard and creates a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and work toward meaningful change.

Amanda takes a collaborative, individualized approach to therapy, recognizing that each person's experiences, values, and goals are unique. She works closely with clients to develop treatment plans tailored to their needs, incorporating therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic practices, and strengths-based therapy.

Her sessions are structured yet flexible, providing space for reflection, skill-building, and honest conversation. Amanda welcomes client feedback and regularly checks in to ensure that therapy remains supportive, purposeful, and aligned with each person's goals.

Amanda earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in August 2021.
