I believe one of the most important things in the patient-provider relationship is that the patient feels heard, and I strive to have every patient know they are heard and that their words and feelings are valid. I want patients to know they are in a safe space and are valued, and that their safety and well-being are priorities. I also believe that honesty, from both the providers and patient, is necessary for a therapeutic relationship.
